Leap and a Quilt Will Appear

Hello! I’m Ellen Ault and in my previous life I was a computer animation instructor for 13 years, teaching animation and art to college students. Everyday I worked on the computer and felt the need to make something physical with my hands.  Handmade3D was born in 2009.  I began with plush design and selling at comic conventions.  When my daughter was born in 2010 I was pulled into the world of quilting and never looked back.  In 2016 I took a leap, leaving my role as a college instructor and delving into the world of fabric.

I am a Professional Longarm Quilter and it’s the best creative job ever.

Drawing with Thread – Longarm Quilting

I love to quilt and turn fabric into texture and dimension.  If I’m not in front of my HandiQuilter Amara longarm, I am sewing on my Pfaff machine.  Fabric and thread are my favorite artistic tools to use. I love scrap quilts and use as much color as possible. I create original designs, adapt patterns, and sew whatever I can find. I custom longarm quilt for local and mail-in clients, hopefully for you!

My quilting + your quilt top = quilt magic!

See my work!
