Leap and a Quilt Will Appear
Hello! I’m Ellen Ault and in 2016 I took a leap. I was a computer animation instructor for 13 years, teaching animation and art to college students. Everyday I worked on the computer and felt the need to make something physical with my hands. Handmade3D was born in 2009. I began with plush design and selling at comic conventions. When my daughter was born in 2010 I was pulled into the world of quilting and never looked back. I took a leap, leaving my role as a college instructor and delving into the world of fabric. I am a Professional Longarm Quilter.
Drawing with Thread – Longarm Quilting
I love to quilt and want to turn flat fabric into texture and dimension. If I’m not in front of my HandiQuilter Avante longarm, I am sewing on my Pfaff machine. Fabric and thread are my favorite artistic tools to use! I love scrap quilts and use as much as color as possible. I create original designs, adapt patterns, and sew whatever I can find. I do custom longarm quilting for local and mail-in clients and make memory and custom quilst, hopefully for you!
My quilting + your quilt top = quilt magic!
See my work!
My work has been published in the UK magazine Love Patchwork and Quilting and in the national magazine STUFFED. I write articles for Quilting Hub. I have had quilts hang in a national shows, such as World Quilt Florida, AQS Spring Paducah, and other AQS Exhibits. I won the Best Longarm Machine Workmanship award for the Florida Competition at World Quilt Florida, January 2018. My work has been seen in multiple galleries in the Tampa area.
